My First Mulloway on a Hardbody Lure | Duo Realis Shad 59MR

My first Mulloway was caught on a 5" soft plastic lure in a estuary system called Mallacoota in the far east of Gippsland. This time we were at the opposite end of the state of Victoria in a place called Nelson, a small township situated at the mouth of the mighty Glenelg river. The river is well known for its large population of mulloway and many come from far and wide to try their luck at this historically elusive fish.
On this particular occasion we had not ventured six hours from home to chase Mulloway, so you can begin to imagine the element of surprise in this capture. I was, in fact, targeting bream, repetitively casting my Duo Realis Shad into wooden structure and rocky clefts when, out of nowhere, the elusive fish that so many dream about, came out to play!
