Bass Fishing With Duo Incubator Rush 60 Crank Bait

After taking product photos for 5 days straight, it was about time i left my room (the office) and got some fishing done. Given that i'd just added 11 new models to the DUO lures range, some of them being ideal for bass fishing, i decided i'd take one of the new crank baits, the Duo Incubator Rush 60, and go test it out fishing for Australian bass.
I'd never used the Incubator Rush 60, but after testing out its smaller brother, the Duo incubator Drop 75, and being very impressed with its action and results, i thought that i could expect much of the same from the Incubator Rush 60 hence its addition to the shop, and my tackle box!
Anyway, the weather was perfect. 35 degrees and overcast with no wind whatsoever making it very humid and ideal for bass fishing. I parked the car at a local swimming spot and started making my way upstream, walking the shallow waters of the river. There was a small channel running along the left side of the river with plenty of timber along its edge, so i started fishing the structure with a fairly quick retrieve, as the water had a moderate flow about it, which the Duo Incubator Rush 60 managed very well maintaining a relatively straight tracking line with its wide wobbling action.

Only a few casts in and i already had two bass come out and inspect the lure which got my blood pumping. The next cast was bogus. i over shot the timber and got it snagged on the bank, so i took my bag off my back and went swimming to retrieve the lure. as i got to the waters edge i noticed multiple bass swimming around a nearby snag, which told me i had some active fish on my hands. After retrieving my lure i walked up to the next snag and began casting the Incubator Rush 60 deep into the structures nooks and crannies and it wasn't long until one of those casts converted into the first fish which wasn't big by any means but a good start none the less.
After releasing the fish i walked around the upstream end of the snag and started fishing it, retrieving the lure against the current. 2 casts in and i had another bass come out and take my offering, this one fighting quite ferociously and almost busting me off on two occasions, but luckily enough i managed to pull him out from underneath the structure and consequently land the fish.

Further upstream there lie another great piece of timber that had bass written all over it. I lobbed a cast at the intersection of two pieces of timber and started cranking the Rush 60 back to me when a bass came flying from underneath the log and engulfed the lure. The drag started singing on this one, taking me back under the log quicker than i could pull him out, but with some violent rod work he eventually changed his direction as i coerced out from the timber. The next cast was placed in the same locality and produced the same result!
This was starting to become a very productive session, with the confidence level in the Duo Incubator Rush 60 at a very high level!

Just a bit further upstream i came to yet another beautiful timber home that basically said "Barry Lives Here". I put a few casts into the downstream end of the snag, and had bass follow the lure every time, but didn't commit to striking, so I decided id try something a little different, that being a few second pause from when the lure hit the water to when i started retrieving. I placed the next cast deep in the structure and let it sit on the surface... 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, BOOOOF!!! A Bass had smashed the lure off the surface of the water! sometimes a change in technique is the answer and in this case it was. I ended up pulling another 2 fish off the same timber and in the same fashion, letting the lure rest a few moments before starting the retrieve.

I continued fishing for another hour or so, managing to catch another 10+ bass making it a very successful and rewarding session, especially for the Duo Incubator Rush 60 which proved to be super effective with its enticing wide wobble.
By the time i got around to finishing this blog post i must say i did manage to get out on the water again to which i had much the same success, again using the Incubator Rush 60, managing to catch 8 bass in a couple hours. Important to note that in both of these sessions i didn't go through one set of trebles and still have the standard hooks in tact, and ready to catch more bass! Here are the photos from the second session
